The properties guests photograph, post about, and remember don't have a number on Airbnb. They have a name. A wordmark on the welcome book. A monogrammed robe in the bathroom. A direct-booking site that looks like a real business. Property branding is the layer that turns a short-term rental into a brand, and a brand into compounding bookings.
Most short-term rentals compete on price, photos, and platform algorithm. The ones that compound (the ones that build a real audience, drive direct bookings, and command a premium) do something different. They behave like brands.
Branded properties book direct. Unbranded properties stay dependent on the OTA.
I spent thirteen years as the chief marketing officer of a national brand before I started designing short-term rentals. The marketing math is the same in both worlds: a property with a name, an identity, and a consistent guest experience generates measurable lift on every line of the P&L.
This is the service that makes that translation. Property naming, identity system, in-property signage, welcome books, branded merch, and the visual style for a direct-booking site, designed by a former CMO who knows how to make brands move bookings.
Branded properties build their own audience and book direct over time, dropping platform fees and rate-controlling the relationship.
A property with a name and identity reads as a real business. Guests pay more for "Lazy Lariat" than for "3BR Cabin in Broken Bow."
Branded merch (mugs, robes, totes, welcome cards) gets photographed and posted by guests. Free, ongoing, on-platform marketing.
Guests remember branded properties, follow them on social, return for second visits, and recommend them by name.
Named, branded properties get featured in design publications and travel round-ups. "Property #14743" doesn't make the list.
A property with a brand becomes a sellable asset on its own. The brand commands a premium when the property changes hands.
A complete property brand is more than a logo. The full identity reaches the guest at every touchpoint, from the moment they search for a place to stay to the moment they post a photo from inside it. Yellowwood Atelier designs the whole stack.
Strategic naming that captures the property's character, market positioning, and search-friendliness. We test, we shortlist, we commit.
Primary wordmark, secondary lockup, monogram, color and mono variants. Delivered in every format you'll need (PNG, SVG, PDF, AI).
A palette and typography system that extends across every brand artifact. Drawn from the property's design language, not pasted from a stock kit.
Welcome sign, room labels, wayfinding, hot-tub rules, wifi cards. Brass, wood, or printed depending on the property's tone.
Mugs, robes, totes, coasters, matches, notecards. Designed and ready for production with your selected vendor.
Instagram and Pinterest handle research, bio copy, profile photos, and a starter content kit so you launch with the brand intact.
Visual style guide and design system for a direct-booking site, ready to hand off to Yellowwood Properties or your developer.
A short, working brand guidelines document so anyone touching the brand (cleaners, photographers, vendors, future you) uses it correctly.
The branding tier you commission is all-or-nothing. You can't pick parts of a tier, because the deliverables only work as a system. But how the engagement arrives is fully modular: bundle it into an Atelier Engagement during a property's design, or commission it standalone for a property that's already live.
The most common path. Branding gets specified alongside the interior design from Phase 1. The property name, identity, signage, and merch are designed to extend the visual language already being built in the rooms, and to launch in lockstep with photography and the listing.
Best for: properties currently in design with Yellowwood Atelier, or owners commissioning a full Atelier Engagement.
A standalone branding engagement for a property that's already designed and operating, including properties someone else designed. Yellowwood Atelier brings the brand layer to a property that has the bones but is missing the identity, the welcome book, and the signage.
Best for: currently-listed properties looking to lift ADR, drive direct bookings, or rebrand for a refresh / relaunch.
Each tier is a complete system. You commission a tier, you get everything in it. The same tiers apply whether you're bundling with an Atelier Engagement (Path A) or commissioning à la carte (Path B).
Each card: the signature moment, the wordmark laid across a moody property shot, the concept, the guest it was built for, and the palette. Same anatomy, three different worlds.
